Jeff Burgess received his DDS and MSD from the c, in Seattle. He practiced general dentistry for 10 years and returned to the UW to pursue an MSD in Oral Medicine followed by a two year post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University Medical Center. He subsequently served 15 years as a Consultant and Attending at the Medical Center Pain Center and at the same time was a Research and Clinical Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine. He also saw patients in a private Oral Medicine practice for 18 years. He is board certified in Oral Medicine and has been a co-investigator on numerous studies and authored and co-authored multiple chapters in Medical and Dental texts as well as articles in peer-reviewed journals and for Web MD (Reference Section) and Pennwell. He is the Director of Oral Care Research Associates and recently completed studies related to dry mouth.

Dr Mardirossian received his dental degree from The Royal London Hospital Medical College, University of London, England in 1991. After 6 years in hospital based dentistry and family based general dental practice in London, he completed his Dental Specialty residency training in Periodontics & Implant Surgery at the University of Southern California in 2000. He further obtained his Master’s degree in Craniofacial Biology from the University of Southern California in 2000. As a Diplomate of the American Board Periodontology since 2004; he maintains membership with the following professional organizations, as he continues to expand his periodontal knowledge and expertise: American Academy Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, American Academy Osseointegration; Tri-County Dental Society, California Dental Association as well as American Dental Association. Dr Mardirossian has publications in the Journal of Periodontal Research, 2000 and Journal of Clinical Periodontology, 2001. Recipient of the California Society Periodontology outstanding research award in 2000; he was part time faculty Assistant Professor at USC, Advanced Periodontology Department 2000 -2004; and at Western University, College Dental Medicine, 2009 – 2015 Dr Mardirossian and his enthused staff maintain a private practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Surgery in Chino valley, CA since 2000.

Dr. Cushing has been a practicing dentist for over 34 years. She is a graduate of Boston College and Tufts University Dental School. She is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists and a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr Cushing practices all phases of dentistry with an emphasis on treating fearful and phobic dental patients.Her most recent book is "Have No Fear of the Dental Chair!" A Guide for Reducing Dental Anxiety".

Dr. Leo E. Rouse serves as Senior Scholar-in-Residence of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), Chair of the ADEAGies Foundation Board of Trustees and Liaison to the ADEA Council of Deans. He is Professor and Dean Emeritus of the Howard University College of Dentistry. He served on the Expert Panel of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) representing ADEA charged with developing the Core Competencies for IPEC. He is a member of the National Advisory Council of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education. In March 2010, he was elected President-Elect of ADEA and on March 17, 2011, was installed as the first African American President of ADEA. His pertinent awards include: the 2009 ADEA Presidential Citation, the 2015 ADEA Chairman of the Board Citation. Other recognitions include the 2015 Alan J. Davis/Student Clinician American Dental Association Achievement Award, the Howard University College of Dentistry Alumni Achievement Award in 1997, the 2011 Sterling V. Mead Award from the District of Columbia Dental Society, the 2011 Legend Award from the National Dental Association. Upon his retirement as Dean, he received the 2015 Trailblazer Ward from the National Dental Association and a 2015 Presidential Citation from the American Dental Association. Dr. Rouse was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters Honorary Degree from the Western University of Health Sciences in May 2014.

Dr. Israel Ismaj has been practicing General Dentistry since 1972, and was educated in the UCLA dental program. Dr. Ismaj first underwent implant dentistry training in 1985 at the University of Washington in Seattle, which was conducted by Professor Branemark.
